Michelle Baddeley comes to the Bar from a career as an academic economist – including professorial roles at University College London, the Institute for Choice (University of South Australia) and the UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney.
Her key practice areas include competition and consumer law, criminal law (including white collar crime), migration and citizenship, wills and estates, banking and finance, and corporations law. She is also well-placed to accept briefs which require significant input from expert witnesses – especially complex expert evidence from economists, econometricians/statisticians and experts in banking and finance.
She has published across a wide range of outlets, and is the author of Copycats and Contrarians: Why We Follow Others, and When We Don’t (Yale University Press), Behavioural Economics – A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press), Behavioural Economics and Finance (Routledge), Running Regressions – A Practical Guide to Quantitative Research in Economics, Finance and Development Studies (Cambridge University Press, with DVB Barrowclough) and
