Paris Hart was called to the New South Wales Bar in 2016. Before joining the Bar, she practised in commercial law, tenancy law, public law and administrative law.

At the Bar, Paris practises across family law, administrative law, criminal law, and defamation. She appears for individuals, corporations, and government agencies in courts and tribunals across New South Wales and the Commonwealth including appellate courts, superior courts and specialist jurisdictions.

Within her family law practice, she has particular experience in matters involving family violence and domestic and family violence dynamics. She is committed to assisting clients to resolve matters efficiently, constructively, and with a strong emphasis on safety, protection, and durable outcomes wherever possible.

Recognised for her strong advocacy and analytical skills, Paris has appeared in complex and high-profile matters involving statutory interpretation, judicial review, procedural fairness, evidentiary issues, and public law. She has also represented witnesses and persons of interest in public inquiries, advising clients in relation to compulsory processes, privilege and procedural fairness.

Paris has appeared as junior counsel for the Crown in complex criminal proceedings and is a member of the Legal Aid NSW indictable criminal law panels. Her extensive courtroom experience across civil, criminal and public law enables her to provide strategic, practical and effective advocacy across a broad range of disputes.

Alongside her practice, Paris is a sessional lecturer in Administrative Law at the University of New South Wales. She is committed to legal education and regularly presents continuing professional development seminars on advocacy, evidence and practice and procedure.

Paris has published extensively on contemporary legal issues in the Australian Bar Review, Bar News, Gazette of Law and Journalism, and the Law Society Journal.
